DE LA RENTA ACCESSORIES WITH LOULOU DE LA FALAISE

Best known as the longtime muse of Yves Saint Laurent, Loulou de la Falaise has been a fixture in the fashion world since the early seventies when she began collaborating with the designer specifically on jewelry and broadly on the world of Yves Saint Laurent. Thirty years later, when Saint Laurent retired in 2003, Loulou started her own brand bringing her passion and energy to customers via her colorful jewelry, accessories, and clothes. In the fall of 2008, Loulou and Oscar de la Renta debuted a fine jewelry collaboration that continues today. Sharing a love of bold styles and exotic inspirations, the two have found much common ground between them in their partnership.

Here are some of the pieces that i personally liked but could never afford

NEW MOON PREMIERE IN LOS ANGELES

Kristen Stewart looked gorgeous at the Los Angeles premiere for the latest craze of new moon on November 17, 2009. She wore an Ocar de la Renta gown which came from the designer's Spring 2010 Ready-to-Wear collection pieces. She wanted to keep her own rocker chic style and definatly made this dress her own. Being known for her tomboy look of jeans and sneakers the crowd loved Kristen in this dress and I agree with them!

PETA Advertisement

The story this PETA advertisement is trying to get across to people is to obviously give becoming a vegetarian a chance and I think they decided to have actress Cloris Lechman wearing the lettuce as a fashion to influence people to use other things besides fur to make clothing.

Betsey Johnson possiblities

The Betsey Johnson house alluded to a much more recession friendly line. Betsey Johnson CEO Chantal Bacon announced "Ms. Johnson is planning a limited-edition design collaboration with a retailer that will likely launch in the fall." Unfortunately they did not say which retailer she will be working with but many believe it will be with Target or H&M for the fact that both retailers have partnered up in similar situations with designers before. Personally i can't wait for her to launch her line at either stores! I will definitely be following up to see where her line will be launched at.

A BRIEF HISTORY ON OSCAR DE LA RENTA

Oscar de la Renta was born July 22, 1932. He left his native Dominican Republic at the age of 18 to study painting at the Academy of San Fernando in Madrid. While living in Spain, he become interested in the world of design and began sketching for leading Spanish fashion houses, which soon led to an apprenticeship with Spain’s most renowned couturier, Cristobal Balenciago.

Later, Oscar de la Renta left Spain to join Antonio Castillo as a couture assistant at the house of Lanvin in Paris.

In 1963, he then came to New York to design the couture collection for Elizabeth Arden.
It provided him with the experience which he would later need to launch his own clothing lines and perfume.

In 1965, he left Arden and went to work for Jane Derby Ltd, an American fashion company. After Derbys death in 1969, de la Renta took over the company and renamed it
Oscar de la Renta and began his signature ready-to-wear label.

The Oscar de la Renta label is comprised of the Signature ready-to-wear collection and Pink Label. To complement these designs, the Fall 2001 runway show marked the debut of Oscar de la Renta Accessories, bags, belts, jewelry, scarves, and shoes.
His talents receive continual international recognition. Among many other honors, Oscar de la Renta received the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) Womenswear Designer of the Year Award in 2000. In February 1990, he was honored with the CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award. He is also a two-time winner of the Coty American Fashion Critic’s Award and was inducted into the Coty Hall of Fame in 1973.

Today he is known as an American fashion designer whose often Latin-flavored work has dominated and influenced the fashion world since the 1970s.
